She took night classes and was immediately hooked on nursing.

Kylee loved animals and volunteered her time at shelters and also served as an animal control officer for several years. She especially loved saving cats from bad circumstances and helping them find loving homes. She owned several dogs of her own over the years, including Biscuit and Moochie who she rescued from abusive situations.

Remembering Kylee J. Martelli

Kylee worked as a nurse at Claremont Hospital’s Valley Campus until she retired early due to her illness. Nursing was her passion and she dedicated herself to helping others while working hard caring for patients with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect until the very end.

Kylee Martelli was an accomplished athlete and model. She was a world-class swimmer who competed in the Olympic Trials, and a professional model who graced the pages of magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle.

Martelli was also an outspoken advocate for body positivity and self-love. In addition to her work in the fashion industry, she used her platform to speak out about the importance of accepting and loving oneself, regardless of size or shape.

She was a passionate woman with a big heart, and her loss is felt by many. Kylee Martelli will be remembered as a talented athlete, a beautiful model, and a fearless leader in the fight for body positivity.

Life After Tragedy

Kylee was also an avid gardener who crafted beautiful flower beds using drip irrigation systems around their home that were admired by all who encountered them! Her love of gardening inspired many projects throughout the neighborhood as she always had plans for new plants in her yard or friends’ yards if they desired it!

Kylee always looked forward to having family gatherings with her husband David Martelli Jr., daughter Katie (Jim) Mosher, son-in-law Ken Mosher and grandchildren Kaylee Mosher and Kael O’Reilly where laughter always abounded!

The daughter of Dawn and Anthony Martelli, Kylee was born on May 3, 2007.

Kylee is survived by her parents Dawn and Anthony Martelli; her sister, Alexis Martelli; grandparents: Robert Pettit and Roxanna Pettit; Connie and David Eggleston; uncles and aunts: Joshua Pettit, Dante Pettit and Brandon Cooper; cousins: Gracie Pettit, Megan Eggleston, Jonathan Eggleston and Michael Cooper.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ (Disciples). Entombment will follow at Adena Gardens Mausoleum.
